Application of metal sculpture

In the field of higher education, the Sculpture Department has a teaching team of 17 members, including 5 professors, 4 associate professors, 3 lecturers, 4 professional technicians, and 1 teaching secretary. The department is a provincial-level advanced unit in teacher ethics construction and a brand-name major. Its stone carving, wood carving, ceramic sculpture, and metal sculpture studios are national-level experimental teaching demonstration centers.

The teaching content has evolved from the initial single traditional clay sculpture teaching to a complete teaching system encompassing clay sculpture, stone carving, wood carving, ceramic sculpture, and metal sculpture studios. While providing basic professional courses, the department strengthens practical teaching, conducting professional practical training in stone carving, wood carving, ceramic sculpture, and metal sculpture laboratories according to the practical teaching syllabus. In 2003, a metal practical teaching base was established with Tianjin Yijie Environmental Landscape Art Design Co., Ltd., and in 2008, another metal practical teaching base was established with Tianjin Zhongyu Bronze Landscape Engineering Co., Ltd. Through practical teaching, students understand and participate in the production process of large-scale clay sculptures, metal casting, forging, large-scale ceramics, and landscape sculptures.
